THE CENTER FOR RESPONSIBLE FUNDING aims to expand the fundraising capacity and funding base of nonprofits working for social and economic justice. The Center says it does this through "expanding the opportunities of these organizations to raise money in workplace campaigns including solicitations, matching funds and volunteer programs; promoting public awareness of activities, needs and contributions of the non-profit sector; research and education of funders on the needs of constituent organizations."
WHARTON COMMUNITY CONSULTANTS provides consulting and advisory services to nonprofit and community organizations in the region. The club is managed by Wharton MBA and undergraduate students who volunteer their time to "make a measurable impact on the success of promising nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area." Clients have included art, theater, youth, health and community development organizations.
THE NONPROFIT CENTER AT LASALLE UNIVERSITY aids capacity-building by nonprofit organizations. It workshops and consulting services in fundraising, board development, planning and evaluation, human resources, financial management, and other topics.
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY'S HISTORY DEPARTMENT has a foreign relations specialist who is working on "an international history of the 1960s, focusing on international non-governmental political and religious organizations like SANE, Women Strike for Peace, and the Quakers."
THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL POLICY AND PRACTICE at the University of Pennsylvania offers graduate programs in nonprofit leadership, social work, and social welfare. Its Master of Science in Nonprofit/NGO Leadership is a full-time course of study, focusing on core areas such as financial management, program design and strategic planning. Each student is assigned a mentor who is an executive in the nonprofit sector.
