& help us promote a positive and more accurate U.S. image abroad by joining IVC today

- At IVC we welcome a stranger and send home a friend -

As an IVC member you play an important role in how the U.S. is viewed abroad - while making friends around the world for yourself, and the U.S.  It's serious business, and you'll have a great time doing it.

Only IVC members can host our State Department guests in their home or take them to lunch, a Phillies or Eagles or Little League game.  Only IVC members can attend ten First Thursday receptions at no cost - and bring a new friend each time for free!

Memberships for Individuals & Families and Young Professionals (our Compass group) range from $55 and $60 for individuals & $75 for families, to $100, $125  &  $250.

Professional/Business Memberships for executives range from $150 to $1,000 for corporations, cultural institutions and community groups.

IVC's two University Memberships are $500 and $1,000.

We're a personal, personalized organization and would like to learn about you, your interests, your expertise and what IVC can do for you.  For more information, contact Alan Hatfield at 215.683.0992 or

As a 'citizen diplomat' you have a tangible way to provide an accurate image of the U.S.   You can host visitors in your home for dinner or lunch, take them sightseeing to the Liberty Bell, become a mentor to an international graduate student, chat with emerging leaders and Consuls at our "First Thursday" receptions, meet members of Parliament or other dignitaries from abroad at our private receptions (most are free for upper level members -$100 and higher), and network with international graduate students during our Discover Philadelphia events (most of these are also free for upper-level members).

As an IVC member you'll have lots of opportunities to meet people from 100+ countries each year, showcase the real United States, learn about other cultures, keep up your language skills and meet some of the most interesting people in the world. You'll also be a part of a unique network of citizen diplomats.  Join now!
