IVC's INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

For students interested in a career in international relations, an internship with IVC is a great start!  One former intern from 2004-2005 recently wrote us that, "To this day it is the most enlightening and horizon-broadening experience I have ever had."

You'll see first hand how the State Department's leadership exchanges work and how important "Citizen Diplomacy" is in making friends and creating a positive image of the U.S. abroad.  And you'll know that you're contributing to something important, especially with today's world events.  Click
here to read what past interns wrote about their experiences.

OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Volunteer internship opportunities are available with IVC throughout the year for students who work a minimum of 20 hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks. There is always a need for additional assistance, however our desk space and computers are limited so we seek people who can work the most hours. Applicants who can work the most hours and weeks always receive preference.

Most interns call and/or send a resume to us several months in advance. We love the Drexel co-op program & we've also had a long time relationship with both Temple and Rutgers' students. Other schools offer IVC's internships for credit, so check with your professors to see if their department has a relationship with IVC. Our interns have come to us from Bryn Mawr College, Seton Hall, Smith, Temple, Penn, Villanova, Yale, Yokohama National University in Japan, and many others!

As you help us arrange itineraries for our delegations or assist with writing proposals or arranging seminars and receptions, we'll help you develop a variety of skills - from a better cultural understanding, to the administrative skills needed to run a business or a non-profit. And no one escapes IVC without improving their organizational skills! However, we do seek people who are already well organized and who can juggle many things at once.

Our office is professional with a relaxed atmosphere and we reward our interns with great learning experiences, monthly receptions and opportunities to meet some of the most interesting people in the world.
