THE DISABILITIES RIGHTS ADVOCACY GROUP, founded in 1989, "aims to empower the disabled population and sensitize able-bodied citizens." It claims a record of successes in countering barriers in housing, public accommodation, education and transportation.

 

THE PHILADELPHIA BAR ASSOCIATION has a Legal Rights of Persons with Disabilities Committee that advocates for the rights of disabled individuals under state and federal law, and meets to discuss emerging trends in the law, developments affecting persons with disabilities.

 

LIBERTY RESOURCES INC. is a nonprofit, consumer-driven organization that advocates and promotes independent living for persons with disabilities.

 

CREATIVE ACCESS is a nonprofit arts organization "dedicated to improving the quality of life for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, ?mixed' Deaf/hearing families." It works on visibility, accessibility, opportunity and inclusion in area theaters and museums.

 

BEST BUDDIES / PENNSYLVANIA works to "enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. We have programs in High Schools, Colleges and online through our e-Buddies program."

 

CHILD GUIDANCE RESOURCE CENTERS says it offers child-centered programs, intensive outpatient day programs, in-home treatment services, a multi-disciplinary comprehensive clinic, programs for developmentally delayed children, psychiatric services, and individualized wraparound services. It also operates a transitional residential facility for mentally ill adults and special recreational services for mentally retarded adults.

 

CHILDREN & ADULT DISABILITY & EDUCATIONAL SERVICES says it serves people of all ages who have physical and/or developmental disabilities. It operates infant stimulation, preschool, school, adult day program, community living arrangements, and transportation.

 

CITIZENS ACTING TOGETHER CAN HELP says it provides "continuous care on the ladder of independence for individuals with mental disabilities." It operates 16 programs ranging from day/school programs to residential psychiatric facilities.
