BRAZIL- December 6th to December 9th, an eight member delegation from Brazil was in Philadelphia to study the U.S. legal system. Areas of interest included seeing the investigative and evidence-gathering processes at various levels, studying the administration of courts, and examining federal criminal law enforcement. The delegation were guests of the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.
CHINA- November 30th to December 2nd, a visitor from China was in Philadelphia to see the historical sites and meet with a newspaper to discuss the Olympics. He was a guest of the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.
SPAIN- November 29th to December 1st, a visitor from Spain was in Philadelphia to examine U.S. think tanks specializing in international relations and to meet with experts in the field of international relations. He was a guest of the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.
ITALY- November 16th to November 18th, 2006, a police officer from Italy was in Philadelphia to look at U.S. law enforcement systems, law enforcement training and best practices in the areas of public order, crowd control and emergency plans, anti-terrorism activities and other related security issues. He was a guest of the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.
AFRICAN REGIONAL- November 15th to November 18th, 2006, a seven member delegation from the countries of Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Angola, and Sao Tome & Principe was visiting Philadelphia to study good governance at the local level. The delegation was comprised of government workers.
INDIA REGIONAL- November 8th to November 11th, 2006, a six member delegation from Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan visited Philadelphia to study the U.S. political system and election process. Five of the members are involved in political work, while the remaining member is a reporter.
POLAND- November 8th to November 11th, 2006, a two member delegation from Poland visited Philadelphia to study American media art. One of the visitors is the chief of photography at an art school, the other visitor is a part of the media art department at the same school. The delegation were guests of the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program.
MULTI-REGIONAL-November 5th to November 10th, 2006, a twenty two member delegation visited Philadelphia to study congressional campaign activities. The delegation was comprised largely of political and government workers, but also contained members from various media outlets. Members of the delegation hailed from Bolivia, Brazil, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iraq, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, and St. Kitts and Nevis. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
GUATEMALA-November 2nd to November 7th, 2006, a nine member delegation visited Philadelphia to study political campaigns, voting policies, and government operations. Eight of the visitors are mayors, and the other is a city councilor. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
AFRICA/NEAR EAST REGIONAL-November 1 to November 4th, 2006, a fourteen member delegation from Northern Africa and the Middle East was in Philadelphia to examine the institutions, processes and traditions of the United States political system. The members were comprised of politicians, government workers, and journalists. Members of the delegation hail from the countries of Algeria, Egypt, Gaza, Iraq, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program
BELARUS-November 1st to November 3rd, 2006, a five member delegation was in Philadelphia to study local government in a big city. The delegation was comprised of educators, and the chief of an independent trade union.
PORTUGAL-October 5th to October 11th, 2006, a visitor from Portugal was in Philadelphia to study various aspects of art museums in the U.S. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
AFRICA/NEAR EAST REGIONAL-October 5 to October 10th, 2006, a six member delegation from Northern Africa and the Middle East was in Philadelphia to examine the academic discipline of American Studies. Members of the delegation hail from the countries of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
ARMENIA-October 5th to October 8th, 2006, a three member delegation from Armenia was in Philadelphia to examine American studies. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
CANADA - September 30th to October 4th, 2006, a visitor from Canada was in Philadelphia to study environmental conservation and water management. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
GERMANY - September 26th to October 1st, 2006, a six member delegation from Germany was in Philadelphia to examine U.S. Society and political affairs. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
AFRICAN REGIONAL-September 25th to September 29th, 2006, a ten member delegation from Africa was in Philadelphia to study Education. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
TUNISIA-September 22nd, 2006 a visitor from Tunisia was in Philadelphia to study science and technology. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
INDIA-September 19th to September 24th, 2006, a six member delegation from India was in Philadelphia to study Business Education. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.

ALGERIA - September 2nd to September 6th, 2006, a two member delegation from Algeria was in Philadelphia and Lancaster County to examine American culture. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
FRANCE-August 23rd to August 25th, 2006, a visitor from France was in Philadelphia to examine Federalism and the U.S. Political System. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
MULTI-REGIONAL - August 16th, 2006, a 16 member delegation was in Philadelphia to study Trafficking in Persons. They were from Belize, Denmark, Ghana, Israel, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Ukraine. MOROCCO - August 5th to August 9th, 2006, a five member delegation from Morocco was in Philadelphia to study Investigative Journalism. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
LIBYA - July 28th to July 30th, 2006, a six member delegation from Libya was in Philadelphia to examine U.S. domestic and international policies and initiatives that support the preservation of cultural heritage. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
TAIWAN - July 27th to July 30th, 2006, a delegate from Taiwan was in Philadelphia to study television journalism. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
BELGIUM - July 26th to July 28th, 2006, a delegate from Belgium was in Philadelphia to study the effects of immigrants assimilating into American society. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
CHINA - July 22nd to July 26th, 2006, a delegate from China was in Philadelphia to study women's rights. She was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.

EGYPT - June 28th to July 1st, 2006, a delegate from Egypt was in Philadelphia to examine Civic Education. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
BAHRAIN - June 28th to July 1st, 2006, a delegate from Bahrain was in Philadelphia to study NGO Regulation and accountability. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
VENEZUELA - June 28th to June 30th, 2006, a delegate from Venezuela was in Philadelphia to study Human and Civil Rights. She was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
INDONESIA - June 22nd to June 25th, 2006, a two member delegation from Indonesia were in Philadelphia to visit the Philadelphia Constitution Center and study media and journalism. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
UKRAINE - June 17th to June 21st, 2006, a seven member delegation from Ukraine were in Philadelphia to study judicial selection, appointment and oversight. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
UNITED KINGDOM - June 14th to June 17th, 2006, a delegate from the United Kingdom was in Philadelphia to study renewable energy. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.

TAIWAN - June 10th to June 14th, 2006, a delegate from Taiwan was in Philadephia to examine international cooperation on intellectual property rights and drug smuggling cases. She was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.

POLAND - May 25th to May 28th, 2006, a delegate from Poland was in Philadelphia to study the structure of the U.S. legal system including legal procedures, from arrest to trial at the federal, state, and local levels. She was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
INDONESIA - May 18th to May 20th, 2006, a four member delegation from Indonesia will be in Philadelphia to learn about the American education system. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
CHINA - May 14th to May 17th, 2006, a delegate from China will be in Philadelphia to examine the role that the government plays in the development and implementation of policies to promote sound enviromental practices. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
ETHIOPIA - May 10th to May 13th, 2006, a delegate from Ethiopia will be in Philadelphia to examine the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
GHANA - May 10th to May 13th, 2006, a three member delegation from Ghana will be in Philadelphia to learn about combating corruption and conflicts of interest. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program.
CHINA - May 4th to May 10th, 2006, a delegate from China was in Philadelphia to learn about the relationship between the U.S. government and our commercial standards development organizations. He was a guest of the State Department's International Visitors Leadership Program.

ISRAEL - April 28th to May 3rd, 2006, three member delegation from Israel will be in Philadelphia to learn about historical beginnings of American constitutional government and the legislative process.

RUSSIA - March 27th, 2006, a three member delegation from Russia was in Wilmington to examine transparency in commercial courts in the United States and how it relates to Russia. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitors Leadership Program.
IRAQ- March 2006, three officials from the Mosul government were in Philadelphia for eight days for democracy training.

ISRAEL - March 8 to 12, 2006, a six member delegation from Israel was in Philadelphia to examine the U.S. judicial system. They were especially interested with the Public Defenders Office. They were guests of the State Department's International Visitors Leadership Program.
RUSSIAN FEDERATION - February 28 to March 21, 2006, an eight member delegation was in Philadelphia for a three week immersion into HIV/AIDS issues and American culture. They were guests of the new Community Connections. Community Connections is a program of the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Agency for International Development and is administered worldwide by World Learning, Washington, D.C. ( formally under the U.S. Department of State).
